I seem to have a virus in my computer, which is eating disk space. About week ago I made 5 Gt free space and during the week I don't have anymore free disk space and I haven't downloaded anything. I found the discussion where is mentioned ComboFix

and I tried this program but its not working on my computer. Does anybody know any else program which I can solve this problem?

Hey, Blue-Lotus,
I don't know about viruses per say, I had one a few weeks ago and had to re-formet my laptop. However, you say all was well about a week or so back........
.... have you though of 're-winding' your computer to a previous setting/restore point? It might be worth a go :o
Good luck
:peace: 'n O:-)

Thanks. I will try it.

You are having that problem because your anti-virus doesn't work properly. You should consider changing it with something more efficient. I recommend Kaspersky, It's the best that exists nowadays. Here you have i: http://www.trustdownload.com/Antivirus-and-Spyware-Cleaners/Antivirus/Kaspersky-Internet-Security-7.0.html (http://www.trustdownload.com/Antivirus-and-Spyware-Cleaners/Antivirus/Kaspersky-Internet-Security-7.0.html)

Hello there : )
Please first download and install Malware Bytes - Update it and do a full system scan. If/when it finds malware have it fix all results. www.malwarebytes.com (http://www.malwarebytes.com)
I recommend Avira Antivirus the basic version is free and from my experience is the most light weight and the most effective. It is widely used in the corporate realm as well. After Malware bytes download and install Avira from free-av.com.
Then download and install HiJackThis and do a system scan and copy your log into this thread and I/we will dissect it. There are also Hijack this forums where they analyze your results as well.

oops, didn't realize how old this thread was ; )

Help here too please? My laptop got a virus that disables my mouse when I try system restore and disabled keyboard so I can't type anything! I don't have boot disk.... any ideas when I can't even get on internet?

Can you boot into Safe mode? to do so tap F8 before the windows loading screen comes up and select safe mode with networking
once up point your browser to malwarebytes.org and download-install-update malware bytes and do a full system scan
let me know what happens and we can go from there : ) if you want to call me feel free, if i don't pick up right away i will call you back threesixoh-three9one-18fifty9

I've found that this usually works best.
just remove your windows disk and use boot appropriately. O:-)

Blue, my solution is to ditch Windoze when using the net and use LInux. I have 2 PC's,
one for my work that I don't want compromised (Linux, (Fedora13)) and one (Windoze) for
the few programs/games etc that I can't get on Linux.
Linux doesn't
*Crash much (unlike Windoze)
*need anti-virus
*slow down over time
*have annoying popups
*treat you like an idiot
Linux is:
*Faster running
*less expensive(I haven't payed more than $50 in the last 4 years)
* more consistent as an Operating System.
*Ready to use for office work straight after install. (all Windoze gives you is a rotten text editor and wordpad; Yuk!)
Cheers!
