Mayan Priest: THE WORLD WILL NOT END IN 2012

CARLOS BARRIOS was born into a Spanish family on El Altiplano, the highlands of Guatemala. His home was in Huehuetenango, also the dwelling place of the Maya Mam tribe. With other Maya and other indigenous tradition keepers, the Mam carry part of the old ways on Turtle Island (North America). They are keepers of time, authorities on remarkable calendars that are ancient, elegant and relevant.

Mr. Barrios is a historian, an anthropologist and investigator. After studying with traditional elders for 25 years since the age of 19, he has also became a Mayan Ajq’ij, a ceremonial priest and spiritual guide, Eagle Clan.

Years ago, along with his brother, Gerardo, Carlos initiated an investigation into the different Mayan calendars. He studied with many teachers. He says his brother Gerardo interviewed nearly 600 traditional Mayan elders to widen their scope of knowledge.

“Anthropologists visit the temple sites,” Mr. Barrios says, “and read the inscriptions and make up stories about the Maya, but they do not read the signs correctly. It’s just their imagination… Other people write about prophecy in the name of the Maya. They say that the world will end in December 2012. The Mayan elders are angry with this. The world will not end. It will be transformed. The indigenous have the calendars, and know how to accurately interpret it, not others.”

The Mayan Calendars comprehension of time, seasons, and cycles has proven itself to be vast and sophisticated. The Maya understand 17 different calendars, some of them charting time accurately over a span of more than ten million years. The calendar that has steadily drawn global attention since 1987 is called the Tzolk’in or Cholq’ij. Devised ages ago and based on the cycle of the Pleiades, it is still held as sacred. With the indigenous calendars, native people have kept track of important turning points in history. For example, the day keepers who study the calendars identified an important day in the year One Reed, Ce Acatal, as it was called by the Mexicans. That was the day when an important ancestor was prophesied to return, “coming like a butterfly.” In the western calendar, the One Reed date correlates to Easter Sunday, April 21, 1519 the day that Hernando Cortez and his fleet of 11 Spanish galleons arrived from the East at what is today called Vera Cruz, Mexico.

When the Spanish ships came toward shore, native people were waiting and watching to see how it would go. The billowing sails of the ships did indeed remind the scouts of butterflies skimming the ocean surface.

In this manner was a new era initiated, an era they had anticipated through their calendars. The Maya termed the new era the Nine Bolomtikus, or nine Hells of 52 years each. As the nine cycles unfolded, land and freedom were taken from the native people. Disease and disrespect dominated. What began with the arrival of Cortez, lasted until August 16, 1987 - a date many people recall as Harmonic Convergence. Millions of people took advantage of that date to make ceremony in sacred sites, praying for a smooth transition to a new era, the World of the Fifth Sun.

From that 1987 date until now, Mr. Barrios says, we have been in a time when the right arm of the materialistic world is disappearing, slowly but inexorably. We are at the cusp of the era when peace begins, and people live in harmony with Mother Earth. We are no longer in the World of the Fourth Sun, but we are not yet in the World of the Fifth Sun. This is the time in-between, the time of transition.

As we pass through transition there is a colossal, global convergence of environmental destruction, social chaos, war, and ongoing Earth changes. All this, Mr. Barrios says, was foreseen via the simple, spiral mathematics of the Mayan calendars. “It will change,” Mr. Barrios observes. “Everything will change.” He said Mayan Daykeepers view the Dec. 21, 2012 date as a rebirth, the start of the World of the Fifth Sun. It will be the start of a new era resulting from and signified by the solar meridian crossing the galactic equator, and the earth aligning itself with the center of the galaxy.

At sunrise on December 21, 2012 for the first time in 26,000 years the Sun rises to conjunct the intersection of the Milky Way and the plane of the ecliptic. This cosmic cross is considered to be an embodiment of the Sacred Tree, The Tree of Life, a tree remembered in all the world’s spiritual traditions. Some observers say this alignment with the heart of the galaxy in 2012 will open a channel for cosmic energy to flow through the earth, cleansing it and all that dwells upon it, raising all to a higher level of vibration.

This process has already begun, Mr. Barrios suggested.

“Change is accelerating now, and it will continue to accelerate.” If the people of the earth can get to this 2012 date in good shape, without having destroyed too much of the Earth, Mr. Barrios said, we will rise to a new, higher level.

But to get there we must transform enormously powerful forces that seek to block the way.

A Picture of the Road Ahead From his understanding of the Mayan tradition and the calendars, Mr. Barrios offered a picture of where we are at and what may lie on the road ahead: The date specified in the calendar Winter Solstice in the year 2012 does not mark the end of the world. Many outside people writing about the Mayan calendar sensationalize this date, but they do not know. The ones who know are the indigenous elders who are entrusted with keeping the tradition.

“Humanity will continue,” he contends, “but in a different way. Material structures will change. From this we will have the opportunity to be more human.”

We are living in the most important era of the Mayan calendars and prophecies. All the prophecies of the world, all the traditions, are converging now. There is no time for games. The spiritual ideal of this era is action. Many powerful souls have reincarnated in this era, with a lot of power. This is true on both sides, the light and the dark. High magic is at work on both sides.

Things will change, but it is up to the people how difficult or easy it is for the changes to come about. The economy now is a fiction. The first five-year stretch of transition from August 1987 to August 1992 was the beginning of the destruction of the material world. We have progressed ten years deeper into the transition phase by now, and many of the so-called sources of financial stability are in fact hollow.

The banks are weak. This is a delicate moment for them. They could crash globally if we don’t pay attention. If the banks crash … then we will be forced to rely on the land and our skills. The monetary systems will be in chaos, and we must then rely on our direct relationship with the Earth for our food and shelter. The North and South Poles are both breaking up. The level of the water in the oceans is going to rise. But at the same time land in the ocean, especially near Cuba, is also going to rise.

A Call for Fusion As he met with audiences in Santa Fe, Mr. Barrios told a story about the most recent Mayan New Year ceremonies in Guatemala. He said that one respected Mam elder, who lives all year in a solitary mountain cave, journeyed to Chichicastenango to speak with the people at the ceremony. The elder delivered a simple, direct message. He called for human beings to come together in support of life and light. Right now each person and group is going his or her own way. The elder of the mountains said there is hope if the people of the light can come together and unite in some way.

Reflecting on this, Mr. Barrios explained: “We live in a world of polarity: day and night, man and woman, positive and negative. Light and darkness need each other. They are a balance. Just now the dark side is very strong, and very clear about what they want. They have their vision and their priorities clearly held, and also their hierarchy. They are working in many ways so that we will be unable to connect with the spiral Fifth World in 2012.”

“On the light side everyone thinks they are the most important, that their own understandings, or their group’s understandings, are the key. There’s a diversity of cultures and opinions, so there is competition, diffusion, and no single focus.” As Mr. Barrios sees it, the dark side works to block fusion through denial and materialism. It also works to destroy those who are working with the light to get the Earth to a higher level. They like the energy of the old, declining Fourth World, the materialism. They do not want it to change.

They do not want fusion. They want to stay at this level, and are afraid of the next level.

The dark power of the declining Fourth World cannot be destroyed or overpowered. It’s too strong and clear for that, and that is the wrong strategy. The dark can only be transformed when confronted with simplicity and open-heartedness. This is what leads to fusion, a key concept for the World of the Fifth Sun.

Mr. Barrios said the emerging era of the Fifth Sun will call attention to a much-overlooked element. Whereas the four traditional elements of earth, air, fire and water have dominated various epochs in the past, there will be a fifth element to reckon with in the time of the Fifth Sun: ether. The dictionary defines ether as the rarefied element of the Heavens.

Ether is a medium. It permeates all space and transmits waves of energy in a wide range of frequencies, from cell phones to human auras. What is “ethereal” is related to the regions beyond earth: the heavens.

Ether the element of the Fifth Sun is celestial and lacking in material substance, but is no less real than wood, stone or flesh. “Within the context of ether there can be a fusion of the polarities,” Mr. Barrios said. “No more darkness or light in the people, but an uplifted fusion. But right now the realm of darkness is not interested in this. They are organized to block it.

They seek to unbalance the Earth and its environment so we will be unready for the alignment in 2012. We need to work together for peace, and balance with the other side. We need to take care of the Earth that feeds and shelters us. We need to put our entire mind and heart into pursuing unity and fusion now, to confront the other side and preserve life.”

To be Ready for this Moment in History Mr. Barrios told his audiences in Santa Fe that we are at a critical moment of world history. “We are disturbed,” he said. “We can’t play anymore. Our planet can be renewed or ravaged. Now is the time to awaken and take action.”

“Everyone is needed. You are not here for no reason. Everyone who is here now has an important purpose. This is a hard, but a special time. We have the opportunity for growth, but we must be ready for this moment in history.”

Mr. Barrios offered a number of suggestions to help people walk in balance through the years ahead. “The prophesied changes are going to happen,” he said “but our attitude and actions determine how harsh or mild they are.”

We need to act, to make changes, and to elect people to represent us who understand and who will take political action to respect the Earth.

Meditation and spiritual practice are good, but also action. It’s very important to be clear about who you are, and also about your relation to the Earth. Develop yourself according to your own tradition and the call of your heart. But remember to respect differences, and strive for unity. Eat wisely. A lot of food is corrupt in either subtle or gross ways. Pay attention to what you are taking into your body. Learn to preserve food, and to conserve energy.

Learn some good breathing techniques, so you have mastery of your breath.

Be clear. Follow a tradition with great roots. It is not important what tradition, your heart will tell you, but it must have great roots. We live in a world of energy. An important task at this time is to learn to sense or see the energy of everyone and everything: people, plants, animals. This becomes increasingly important as we draw close to the World of the Fifth Sun, for it is associated with the element ether - the realm where energy lives and weaves.

Go to the sacred places of the Earth to pray for peace, and have respect for the Earth which gives us our food, clothing, and shelter. We need to reactivate the energy of these sacred places. That is our work. One simple but effective prayer technique is to light a white or baby-blue colored candle. Think a moment in peace. Speak your intention to the flame and send the light of it on to the leaders who have the power to make war or peace.

We Have Work to Do According to Mr. Barrios this is a crucially important moment for humanity, and for earth. Each person is important. If you have incarnated into this era, you have spiritual work to do balancing the planet. He said the elders have opened the doors so that other races can come to the Mayan world to receive the tradition. The Maya have long appreciated and respected that there are other colors, other races, and other spiritual systems. “They know,” he said, “that the destiny of the Mayan world is related to the destiny of the whole world.”

“The greatest wisdom is in simplicity,” Mr. Barrios advised before leaving Santa Fe. “Love, respect, tolerance, sharing, gratitude, forgiveness. It’s not complex or elaborate. The real knowledge is free. It’s encoded in your DNA. All you need is within you. Great teachers have said that from the beginning. Find your heart, and you will find your way.”

Q and A with a First Shaman

QUESTION: Many people are saying that we can save the world if we change our level of consciousness, while other people are saying it’s too late because the immensity of our human project has gotten so large that it will be swiftly and painfully corrected by some sort of apocalypse. Still others are saying that there is nothing wrong. How do I sort this all out?

ANSWER: That is for you to decide. Let’s begin with the third category of people you mentioned, the ones who see nothing wrong. These people are simply hypnotized by materialism. We will speak more of that later. The other two groups have exactly the same mission. Both scenarios require a state of consciousness that is not ordinary to what you have. Those that are already aware of the need in a consciousness change for the health of humanity are already seeking ways of cultivating non-ordinary states. These non-ordinary states will become ordinary in your future, but right now they are a minority. These states include heightened compassion for all life, feelings of unity and letting go of self-centeredness and the illusion of material possessions for happiness. Survival will depend on the compassion for others. It shows you that in both scenarios the need for transformation in human consciousness is coming. So don’t worry about the outcome. Live in the now and begin your transformation right away.

QUESTION: People are now saying that we must move away from our Gregorian calendar and tune in to galactic time. Do you agree with that?

ANSWER: Yes. Absolutely. As you know, your calendar is the basis of your civilization. It was forced onto the world by the Catholic Church for human-centered reasons. For control. And this church destroyed the usage of other sacred calendars, which were given to the people that it conquered. Now it is all about business. Human business. This calendar involves the rotation of only your planet and your sun, which makes it a tiny calendar in the midst of a huge omniverse. To expand your consciousness, you must enlarge your view to look beyond your watch and your Gregorian calendar to agree with other people what day and time it is. That you call today Tuesday means nothing to me.

QUESTION: So what is important?

ANSWER: Consciousness is important. You must begin to see yourself in proportion to where you are in creation and consciousness. When your calendar is based on actions that are in tune with creation and consciousness, you will be free from the stress of how much you can produce in a workday. When your consciousness is in tune with creation, you will be one with the universe. Right now, your consciousness is speeding faster and faster.

QUESTION: Is this why time seems to be speeding up?

ANSWER: Time is not speeding up. It is the mind of your people that is speeding up. But your mind is not your consciousness. Your mind is what allows you to make decisions, but right now your mind is based entirely on this silly calendar. Your consciousness is creation, which includes all. Step out of your human-centered view of the world and you will see this. You will see how narrow your mind is.

QUESTION: But it really does feel like time is speeding up. Why is that?

ANSWER: It is because your mind is speeding up. Everything that surrounds the life of your people is speeding up. Just in the blink of an eye, your people went from writing on clay tablets to emailing across the globe-from walking to flying. Every day you are discovering another way to go faster. It is hard for your mind to keep up with that pace. Actually, it is already far behind, and that is why you feel so much stress. Your mind cannot keep up with a computer. Your creations have already passed the speed of your mind.

QUESTION: Then what is time?

ANSWER: Now that is a good question. You perceive the things that are happening to you now as being present. And all other events that you believe to be real – events that happen to you or anyone else – you regard as past, present or future. But maybe the positions that you regard as past, present and future are all a product of your mind, not your consciousness. Suppose your consciousness has no past, present or future. Then, the only thing you could really say about time is that time involves change. You can say that something remains unchanged through time, but there could be no time if nothing changed. It is the rate of change that your mind is experiencing that is causing you to feel like time is speeding up.

QUESTION: So it’s just an illusion that things appear to be moving faster?

ANSWER: No, it’s not an illusion. Human creation is definitely moving faster. Every day you invent machines that produce more, computers that go faster, and new ways of communicating electronically. All the while, the rest of creation is moving at a different speed. That speed is increasing, too, but at a rate much slower than the rate that humans are creating.

Think of it this way. Just in your short lifetime, you have seen the invention of the cell phone. Quickly after that everyone seems to have one. Quickly after that you could send pictures, now you can send email and surf the Internet from your mobile phone. It is all moving faster and faster – who knows what will come next? But look outside your window to that tree that grows. Is that tree growing faster now than when you were a kid? Does the robin sitting on the branch fly faster than its parents did? Does it still take nine months for human pregnancy? You see, what is speeding out of control is what humans are creating – including the species itself. Every day, the speed at which the human population grows is increasing. Soon it will be more than Mother Earth can bear. Humans are out of sequence to that which your Mother can provide. So what must be corrected is the silly need to go faster, to always produce more than yesterday.

QUESTION: If I hear you correctly, it is that we are taking more than our Mother than she can produce, is that correct?

ANSWER: Of course. You can take oil from the ground much faster than oil can be created. You can take trees faster than they can be created. You are out of balance with creation.

QUESTION: What can be done?

ANSWER: Stop your destructive compulsion to create faster than your Mother! Get back in tune with creation. Synchronize your time, your rate of material change, back to the time of your Mother. Change your mind. Be aware of being aware of your consciousness, not only your mind! Change your concept of time away from the rate of change in what humans can produce and toward the change and evolution of the level you are aware of consciousness.

QUESTION: But how is this done?

ANSWER: Your Mother is experiencing herself in relation to galactic and omniversal time, just as an insect that lives only for weeks or months experiences time differently than a whale that lives to be a hundred years old. Humans that are in touch with their Mother may also experience the passage of time as it relates to the galaxy and omniverse. Humans also have the capacity to experience time through the actions of creation as they pertain to human consciousness. This was known to human cultures such as the Maya. They did not experience time through the Gregorian calendar or by how many goods they could produce during a revolution of the earth around the sun. Their temporal reality was based on cycles of creation. Reviving this knowledge would be a good starting point for your people. But understand that your mind is aware of many things that they were not, so you must add those acts of creation for your view to be complete.

QUESTION: I’m not sure what you are suggesting.

ANSWER: What I’m suggesting is to align your daily actions to the acts of creation as they apply to human beings and also to your Mother, who provides you with life. In doing so, you will at the same time align with actions of creation in the grander temporal scheme of your galaxy and omniverse. Open your mind and your consciousness to the actions of creation that govern human life, not only those actions created by human minds, which is your main focus now. These actions of creation are actions that you might call spiritual, but not religious.

QUESTION: Yes, I have come to understand the differences between spiritual actions and religious actions. Spiritual actions are of a personal nature, while religion is more collective.

ANSWER: This is true but there is more to it than that. The time has come for each of your people to claim their own connection with the spiritual aspects of human life. In the face of the human mind speeding away from its Mother, you are now being asked not to simply follow the directions received from the prophets, but rather to experience non-ordinary states of consciousness yourself so that you can be guided by your own experiences, not the experiences of others. Direct connection to spiritual actions of creation through non-ordinary experiences is what is required now – such is what you are experiencing in this moment while you are “speaking” to me.

QUESTION: Okay. I think I understand what you are asking, but I’m still not clear about what you mean by aligning with acts of creation as applied to human beings.

ANSWER: Acts of creation for a butterfly include life as a larva, pupa, butterfly, and finally acts of reproduction. Acts of creation for a pine tree include sprouting from a seed, growing toward the sun, dropping pine cones and finally merging with the soil of the Mother. Human acts include breathing and reproducing, but your complex organism also allows you to experience feelings and emotions, intuition and the consciousness of being aware that you are aware. These are but a few actions – it will be better for you to inventory these actions of creation for yourself rather than just receiving a list from me. But I will tell you that all of these acts of creation are pulses of creation that you can align with in a way that turns your lifestyle away from the business calendar and toward a more conscious way of life. I suggest your study the alignment of the Maya toward actions of creation and then add the experience of your people. When you have done this, you will then be at a new starting point for discovering non-ordinary states of consciousness and what can be learned from there.

Mayan Elder Speaks: DON ALEJANDRO

September 1999 ... Santa Fe, New Mexico

We are all here because it is our destiny, our mission. Spirit has called each of you here. You are special. I am no more special than you are. You are more than me. I am a poor Mayan. We do not have schools and universities like you do. We live in the poor countryside. What I have is given to me by my father.

The Cosmos is the source of our knowledge.We study the Cosmos. Our books are the Mayan Codices. For us, this is our writing. The hand is a book. We have 5000 codices. We study these. We communicate with the invisible ones, the star people, who gave me my name,"Wandering Wolf." I come in fulfillment of the prophesies of the Mayan and Hopi, which says: "Those of the center will unite the eagle of the north and the condor of the south, because we are one, like the fingers of the hand." This means that the elders of Central America will unite with those of North and South America. This is a fulfillment of our prophesies, that is why I am here.

Our elder astronomers are watching over time and when it will be fulfilled. It shall be fulfilled in Twelve Baktun and it began on August 17, 1987, the Harmonic Convergence. It was then that I began my walk all over the world. The Harmonic Convergence began the Twelve Baktun, Thirteen Bahaou and will end in 2012 or 2013 by your calendar. This will end the fourth period of the sun by our calendar.

There will be huge problems. Catastrophes and cataclysms will befall us. So I have been asked to speak to you and all over the world, of these prophesies and other elders, too. We speak in defense of the natural world. No more pollution of the planet. It cannot survive it, and then we will not be able to survive without our mother earth. There is no more distinction between races and colors and creeds. Your sadness and loneliness is the same as mine.

We have the same feelings of love. Why? We have the same sun, one breath, all the earth is fed by the one sun, air, water-mother earth, and we return here. We are the flower of the earth of different colors, sizes, scents. You and your music -we all go in the same direction: toward the Creator. The Mayans with their hands tied, hearts torn out are in the codices and were fulfilled five hundred years ago and to the present day. These prophesies are being fulfilled. In Guatemala, we cannot ask for food or land, or they will shoot us. They come at night and take our leaders and shoot them and torture them, rape them, and take their hearts out. Pregnant women have their babies torn from their stomachs. These injustices began five hundred years ago and continue to this very day in all the Americas. They want to destroy each other and turn mother earth into money. Soon the illness, heat, suicide and drought arrives. LETS SEE IF WE CAN FIX IT with money when there is no water, polluted land, air, seas...we cannot. We must do it now, before it is too late, we must stop cutting down the trees.

We seek the unity of all people to seek no more pollution. Lets think about the future for our children. What will we leave them? A tank? A gun? We must leave them love, equality, freedom. Earth belongs to the Creator. It is for humans, for man. Man divided and put boundaries around it and owned the land. No one can claim the sun or air - it is for all of us. Mayan astrologers know a lot but do not say everything.

In these past days there are many doomsday sayers. On August 11, 1987, the positions of planets in alignment brought more energy on the earth. There will be more earthquakes, volcanoes, floods, hurricanes, tornadoes, etc. During 2012-2013 there will be a great comet and a red comet. We are all creatures of the earth, but in space there are others. Comets might fall elsewhere. These are not predictions of death, but a great illness will come from pollution. That is why we are gathering, to stop the pollution that will cause this great illness. It is the fulfillment of a prophesy.

During 1994, in Guatemala at a meeting of the elders, we lit a sacred fire day and night, and for seventy two hours there were more than three hundred elders participating. Not just to talk about the prophesies, but to awaken the power centers of the earth. That is why we are here now in North America, in Santa Fe. Each elder did their ceremonies for ten days. This was called the Continental Gathering Reunion.

In 1997 we met again in Bogota, Colombia and ended in the Amazon. Over four hundred elders came. From there the indigenous people of North America were selected next in Santa Fe. Hopefully, you will help us. It is a prayer for Creating Peace. At each gathering there are certain papers presented and ceremonies done. Each tribe will share their knowledge and their prophesies, their ceremonies at the ceremonial sites. We struggle to defend our Mother Earth. All the goals discussed at the gathering must be written in a book. We are writing a history and publishing it, so the authorities can read it.

There will be a thirty six hour prayer for peace. Everyone prayed and made offerings and created a memorial. The crystal skulls that are from the Mayan pyramids have been given to a woman to hold and protect. Later they will be returned to the pyramids. Anna Mitchell Hodges is holding them. These crystal skulls were brought from the Pleiades, they speak of reincarnation. The elders know the science of the lives in this. The Mother of Mayan science is Pleiadian. These skulls must go home where they belong. This is the science of the future after 2000. You were called to be here and carry this message. SPREAD THE WORD!!

The Wingmakers are actually the star people. Mayan actually means "my people." They first came to Atlantis. Our first pyramids are there, underwater. In the Bermuda area. Tulan was the name of the city of Atlantis. Their great prophets, (star people), came and gave an oral transmission. It has been passed down for thousands of years. In the beginning there were four of them. The first teachers from the Pleiades taught the astronomy and the beginning of creation, the Great Mysteries. They have the power of the sixth and seventh senses and the third eye. They came to teach us these things. The way of working together, etc. There have been many visitations from the Pleiades, then they return there, then they come back here again and come down to Asia, Tibet, Kaimaya, and in India also.

"Nagamaya" they were called. There are glyphs that speak of these visitations, like the Wingmakers. More will be discovered when it is time. In 2012, these wise ones will return again. There are some now incarnated in bodies, we do not know who they are and it is a secret until the time comes. This is the return of the ancestors spoken about in the prophesies. They will all arise, not just Mayan, all of us.

The prophesy says: "May it dawn, may the new day come, may people have peace and be happy." To guide you with these messages, it is the message of the dawn...the bringers of the dawn. You will see then where we have come from. The Psychic says we, together will see our mountains, our children, our waters..."Now that I return I see my children confused in different religions and cities destroyed and my mountains and deserts and rivers polluted." When they return in 2012, what will we show them? What will they see? Take this message and share it. This is why we are gathering, to tell people the importance of saving the mother earth, of stopping the pollution.

The fact is, way deep down, everybody knows their own vibrations, and they know what they vibrate to. And as everybody also knows, they have got to keep feeling those good vibrations. By it's nature, a vibration is a frequency wave. Your frequency wave is a form, because any frequency that vibrates for any amount of time can be mapped. It can be drawn on a graph. The mapping of any frequency is its form. In fact, all geometrical forms are mappings of different frequencies. A circle is one frequency pattern, a square is another, and a hexagon still another.

What all this means is that even though each individual wave-form is slightly different from every other wave-form, there is a common denominator, a wave-form model that is encoded in the Tzolkin, the galactic constant. As the galactic constant, the Tzolkin encodes light frequencies, crystalline frequencies and genetic frequencies. Light frequencies are electromagnetic energy patterns. Crystalline frequencies describe the elements and forms of matter. Genetic frequencies refer to organic life patterns. Of course they are all intermixed. Take humans for example. As beautiful as we think they are, their beauty is really the result of a particular combination of 64 DNA codons. These codons are the amino acid "code words" of the genetic code. These little six-part structures come together to create the twisting double-helix patterns that we associate with DNA. These patterns, in their particular combinations, contain the information that translates into what we think is our physical beauty. "If your humans would stop taking credit for your beauty," Uncle Joe told me once, "then your beauty would really shine!"

Naturally the DNA code is described as having its own vibratory structure. Our genes vibrate. So whatever our particular genetic combinations may be, they determine our particular wave-forms. Yet, despite apparent differences, and our imperfections, everyone is made up of the same stuff. Each one of us contains the very same code that describes the pattern of all the other wave-forms.




The Mayans say, "In Lake'ch," "I am another yourself." We are all the same human. In and through myself I know you and you know me. Sounds like a good reason to be tolerant and compassionate, doesn't it?

Not only is each human its own unique wave-from but all of humanity is a single wave-from. We could think of humanity as a wave that is moving and growing in time. And of course the Earth is its own wave-form, as the Sun and solar system are their own wave-forms, and the galaxy itself is one big crystal wave-form that encompasses and recapitulates all the lesser wave-froms. Waves within waves. Waves giving rise to waves. Everything in motion within the galactic ocean. Yes the galactic ocean! Did you ever stop to think about it? Beams and rays emitting sparkling prismatic drops of electromagnetic spray, star systems, planets, mineral formations dazzling in color and shape, and the life forms -- innumerable waves, writhing and twisting their way through geometries of time, filing every possible space with ingenious constructs, thought forms, wavelengths -- seeking and surfing their way back along the Zuvuya to the source... Now, if all of these wave-froms are regulated by the interdimensional galactic constant, the Tzolkin, it means that your own wave-form is ultimately the echo of the galactic wave-from. But an echo -- isn't' that the same as a memory? ...

Let us assume the galaxy to be an immense organism possessing order and consciousness ... it consists of a complex of member star systems each coordinated by the galactic core, Hunab Ku ... the dense pulsating galactic heart emits a continuous series of signals ... a matrix of resonance - a vast gallactic field of intelligent energy whose primary on-off pulsations provides the basis for four universal wave functions: a transmitting of informational function; a radiative or electromagnetic function; and attractive rgravitational function; and a receptive or psychoactive function. It is important to bear in mind that the information communicated from one system to another must pass through the star of the receiving system. It is the star, of which our sun is an example, that mediates the Kuxan Suum ("galactic walkie-talkie lifeline") between Hunab Ku, the gallactic core, and the planet evolving into conscious reflective intelligence.

We the Indigenous People join together in defense of the life of the human species, in defense of the life of our brother animals and the trees and in defense of the life of Mother Earth, because the life of the Planet Earth is in danger. We all know that what is happening in the world now is not a coincidence. As examples: The hurricanes and the heavy storms that are menacing different places in the world; the high temperatures that day by day rise to higher degree, while in other parts of the world the cold becomes more intense; rivers are drying out and others are disappearing; the glaciers are melting; many places in the world are suffering the effects of natural disasters; and all of these are the result of our imbalance with Nature. One other thing, our country, our communities are living under fear due to the violence, the drugs, and confrontations with those who are in search for power and wealth.

It is necessary that the behavior of human beings all over the world has to change; the life of the Planet Earth is responsibility of all and that is why the invitation from the Indigenous people is for everyone, to help save human life, save the planet thus inheriting a healthy future to the new generations. It is for this reason that we invite everyone, indigenous and non indigenous to understand and respect each other; we invite each one to make an effort to change the negative attitude towards the indigenous and towards women in general. We invite each minister, each public employee, to work for the eradication of racism, discrimination and the inequality that exist in our country.

The Mayan Prophecy says: “Let my big Melody play, let my small Melody play, let my dancers loose, let my prisoners be free; these are my valleys, these are my mountains.” These are the words of Rabinal Achi. Why do I say “my valleys and mountains are prisoners”? Because they are being used as centers for nuclear testing, because they are being perforated without compassion, drawing the blood of Mother Earth, extracting her oil and minerals that only increase the contamination and bring about destruction. The mountains are prisoners of men because with the chainsaw of the big monopolies are murdering its trees, and with it go the animals that inhabit them. They say that we the indigenous, the country people, and the poor Ladinos are the ones killing the trees, and only for the small amount of wood that we use for cooking our sacred nourishment. This is not true. One can never compare the use we make of the trees with the commercial objectives that the big corporations have with the trees. It is not true that we the poor and the indigenous are the ones who are killing the trees when we are not even owners of land. This way of thinking is simply part of the same racism. It is easy to blame the weak. From the Maya Cosmo-vision point of view, no one owns the land; we are just one more element of life and of Nature, and this is why we are inviting every human being to help save our Mother Earth.

According to the Maya Long Count Calendar, we are finalizing the 13 Baktun and 13 Ahau, thus approaching the YEAR CERO. We are at the doorsteps of the ending of another period of the Sun, a period that lasts 5,200 years and ends with several hours of darkness. After this period of darkness there comes a new period of the Sun; it will be the 6th one. In each period of the Sun there is an adjustment for the planet and it brings changes in the weather conditions and in social and political life as well.

The world is transformed and we enter a period of understanding and harmonious coexistence where there is social justice and equality for all. It is a new way of life. With a new social order there comes a time of freedom where we can move like the clouds, without limitations, without borders. We will travel like the birds, without the need for passports. We will travel like the rivers, all heading towards the same point…the same objective. The Mayan prophecies are announcing a time of change. The Pop Wuj, the book of the Counsel, tells us, “It is time for dawn; let the dawn come, for the task to be finished.”

It is based in this prophecy that I make the following reflection: In present time, we the indigenous, non indigenous and Ladino people still don’t see ourselves as true brothers and sisters; we haven’t reached the place where there is no room for racism, discrimination and exclusion, where we all feel like citizens with dignity. Many don’t believe there is racism, discrimination, and despise towards citizens of indigenous communities, but the reality is that we feel it and we live it every moment. We experience it all the time, as workers and as citizens. I ask myself, “Why is this, if we are all humans, if we all have the same feelings and dignity, and we all are equal?” I think that there is so much to learn still, such as learning to recognize the identity, the value, and the wisdom that the indigenous nations have regarding living a good life. This gives us the inspiration to live and to be a better person every day.
